In conjunction with the 68th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), the parallel event “Catalysts of Change: Fostering Female Leadership in Rural Revitalization” takes place today, March 15, at the prestigious Harvard Club, in New York, USA. Composing the event, the Legion of Good Will (LGW) was invited to participate in the panel discussion “Breaking Barriers in Rural Leadership,” which discussed the theme: “Addressing challenges and opportunities for women in rural areas.” It was moderated by Dr. Yifa, Founder of Woodenfish Foundation and Harvard Researcher, and had the panelists:

On the occasion, the Legion of Good Will presented the quote of its President, Paiva Netto, “Take care of the Spirit, improve human beings. And everything will be transformed for the better!” The LGW’s representative to the UN, Danilo Parmegiani, addressed the best practices of the organization in supporting women and girls from rural areas of several countries, by partnering with female community leaders and other institutions to reach distant areas where gaps of social disparities are greater than in urban areas. The LGW’s work serves as an example of how collective actions inspired by universal values of solidarity and love can make a difference and support women and girls in extreme vulnerability.
