LGW presents at the UN on youth protagonism
Event was promoted by the Committee on Spirituality, Values, and Global Concerns - NY at the United Nations.
The NGO Committee on Global Spirituality, Values and Interests at the United Nations, in New York, invited the Legion of Good Will to present its recommendations for empowering young people as partners of equal importance in implementing the international sustainable development agenda.
The LGW shared best practices to promote opportunities for young people to become protagonists of Peace. The event took place on Thursday, 26, and discussed "Egalitarian partnership with the youth ensures sustainable peace", and featured representatives from the United States, Brazil and Pakistan.
"Before the many challenges faced by the youth today, the LGW's work always aims to present solutions that simultaneously assist on several fronts and promote the integral development of the Human Being. The LGW promotes planetary citizenship and social-environmental awareness, through ecumenical spirituality education, an innovative proposal created by educator Paiva Netto. The Institution provides material and spiritual support, by encouraging the young person's protagonist role in building a more sustainable world, "said Danilo Parmegiani, LGW's representative at the United Nations, who shared with the audience the work carried out by the institution in Brazil and abroad.
After the thematic panel, members of the executive council of the Committee on Spirituality visited the premises of the LGW in New York and had an opportunity to learn a little about the work of promoting a Culture of Peace, especially about the Temple of Good Will in Brasilia, the most visited monument of the Federal Capital according to the Secretary of Tourism, which receives pilgrims from all over the world.

Since 1994, the LGW has been associated with the UN Department of Public Information. In 1999, it was the first Brazilian institution to obtain general consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council.
